  • How long will it take?

This depends on the size of your home and how much stuff you have.  It also depends on the time you have to devote to tidying and the frequency of our tidying sessions.  For a complete tidying festival, it would take a minimum of 2 months, with regular sessions. However it usually takes longer. 

  • Why does it take so long?

The KonMari method is thorough, complete and the result is long-lasting.  We will quite literally check every item in your home, determine its purpose and its joy factor and then either discard it or store it intentionally. It is not a "quick fix".  It is a long-term, enduring solution to your disorganisation. 

  • Can you just help with my garden shed/pantry/wardrobe?

I do offer single consultation sessions, however for short-term, superficial, decluttering I would probably suggest a conventional organiser.

  • What happens to the items I discard? Will you take care of this for me?

I have a detailed list of recycling, donating and disposal solutions for your discarded items.  In most cases, I will take care of most of these for you, if you wish.  Any charges incurred will be on-charged to you with a small service fee.

  • Will you sell my valuable items for me?

This is a service I offer for items valued over $100 with a service fee of 10% of the final price.  If sold on eBay, ebay fees will also be deducted.  If you wish to do this yourself, I am happy to assist you setting up your listings.

  • Can I book extra sessions when my package ends?
Of course!  If you need one or more extra sessions you can definitely book these.  The cost of additional sessions are calculated at the hourly rate of your original package booking.

 

About the KonMari method™

The KonMari Method™ is a system where you first clarify how you feel about your home and possessions, followed by understanding how you would like to feel and how you want to live and creating a vision to guide you through the tidying process.  As your consultant, I will guide and support you as you consider your possessions. We work in a specific order: clothes, books, papers, komono (miscellaneous categories such as bed & bath linen, cleaning products, make-up, sporting goods, pantry, kitchen & garage etc) and finally sentimental items. 

Each item is checked to determine if it "sparks joy", to see if fits and is consistent with your vision for your home and your ideal life.  Items that do not "spark joy" are discarded with gratitude, until you are left with only those items that spark joy for you.

At the conclusion of each stage of the Tidying Festival, we work on storage with particular techniques that save space, look beautiful and that make it easy to stay tidy.
